I came to the year 2007
through my friends
in a state of confusion
but not the apathetic kind
the usual kind that is
not the kind where life is sucked out of me
in my lack of understanding

I arrived here
remembering
a bus, a smile, an argument
in Greek
faces, hands, hearts
I arrived with a sense of
accomplishment
confused by the ways of the world
the impact of my worldliness
and that of others

I came to the year 2007
in a silent contentment with
my life
